Bags of Ethics, alongside the British Fashion Council (BFC) and the UK’s Department for Business & Trade (DBT), organised the inaugural UK-India Sustainable Fashion & Beauty Market Visit from April 5th to 7th in Chennai and Pondicherry, India.

Hosted at our Factory in Pondicherry, this event explored sustainability, innovative design, and supply chain transparency in British and Indian businesses.

Supreme Creations/Bags of Ethics factory in Pondicherry is renowned for its sustainable practices and a significant reduction in single-use plastic. Delegates witnessed circularity and design innovation,  in action as old uniforms and luxury designer off-cuts were transformed into new items, addressing textile waste on a large scale. With an 80% female workforce, the factory embodies inclusivity and sustainability.

The visit provided firsthand supply chain insights and facilitated connections through workshops and networking sessions. Leaders like Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council, and Jamila Saidi, Head of Digital Commerce, Retail & Luxury at the UK’s Department for Business & Trade, praised Bags of Ethics for its impactful work and collaborative spirit.

They highlighted its potential for forging new partnerships, expanding into the Indian market, and promoting global ethical business practices.

Supreme Creations is using cutting-edge technology, expertise and advanced software tools to facilitate seamless collaboration with clients and translate design concepts into digital and physical mock-ups within 24 hours. In-house shooting and video capabilities enhance the design and production processes with better communication between our customers and our design department.

In essence, the UK-India Sustainable Fashion & Beauty Market Visit is a start to a joint commitment to sustainability and responsible trade practices. Bags of Ethics and its partners are leading the way towards a brighter, more sustainable future for fashion and beauty.
