University of Westminster Guest Lecture to MA Fashion Business students

On 31st January 2024 Smruti Sriram, CEO of Supreme Creations/ Bags of Ethics was asked to give a guest lecture to the Masters in Arts Fashion Business Students at the University of Westminster in London. T he world-leading Masters course brings together students from all over the world, to learn more about working in fashion businesses – design, merchandising, management, finance, operations, marketing and beyond.

Smruti presented the business that Dr. R. Sri Ram founded and discussed:

  • The business’ founding principles
  • The sealed supply chain: from design to last mile that Supreme owns.
  • The mission of the business in changing consumer and business behaviour to being more reusable
  • The values around community across the supply chain
  • Sustainability and the class as leaders and discussion makers for the future
  • What sustainability means
  • How to collaborate with other brands
  • How to navigate certifications, audits, and accreditations and which ones to focus on
  • Capital investments in machinery.
  • Agility and flexibility in business mindset
  • Supporting a female-focused workforce
  • Working with top global brands
  • Working with charities and sustainability organisations

The class was composed of students from different countries including China, Korea, Italy, Italy, Guyana, Nigeria, Germany and more.

As part of the project collaboration with Supreme Creations/ Bags of Ethics and University of Westminster students will present a Marketing pitch back to Dr. R. Sri Ram with the winning teams announced in March 2024.
